A number of sport federations noticed that information technology takes an active part in daily tasks. Standard sport information systems containing a broad range of functionality developed for the Dutch procedures did not exist. By initiative from the Royal Dutch Football Federation (KNVB) cooperating with consultancy agency the DaVinci Group, software developer Dexels and IT specialist E- Novation, Sportlink Services was established on December 10th 2002. Sportlink Federation and Sportlink Club ware launched in 2003. After successfully implementing Sportlink Federation at the KNVB, for amateur as well as professional footballclubs, 570 clubs ware using the software. In 2004 the next large federation presented itself, the Royal Dutch Hockey Federation (KNHB). In 2005 the sport information systems ware made entirely ‘web enabled’ and were locaterd centrally. Sportlink Services works with an ‘Application Services Provider’ (ASP) model. This is in the advantage of the Federations and the clubs. Due to new functions and the user- friendliness the number of clubs increased to 2,000 and 2 new sport federations apply. In 2006, the number of clubs grows to 3,000 and function- and services packages are expanded. Our first international clients start using Sportlink Services products. Sportlink is a young, fastly growing, financial healthy, international organisation which has become Holland’s number one sport information system supplier in a short period of time. We value our clients and listen to their feedback. Now, in 2007 we serve federations and clubs which all together have over 1.5 million registered sportsmen and women. |
